MINSK, March 16 (BelTA) - Vietnamese parliamentarians intend to study the functioning of the Belarusian social security system amid the global financial crisis, chairman of the Finance and Budget Committee of the National Assembly of Vietnam Phung Quoc Hien said as he met with Alexander Antonenko, Chairman of the Permanent Commission for budget, finance and tax policy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus.“We are impressed by the fact that Belarus has not given up social programmes during the time of the crisis,” Phung Quoc Hien said. In his opinion, during a global crisis the role of the state in economic regulation should be increased. “The crisis which has affected many countries has many causes. Yet the main cause is the irrational structure of the economy in some countries, financial sector in particular,” Phung Quoc Hien said. This is the result of the small role of the state in economic regulation, he believes.
